1. Successful indeed are the believers.

2. Those who offer their Salat (prayers) with all solemnity and full submissiveness.

3. And those who turn away from Al-Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk, falsehood, and all that Allah has forbidden).

4. And those who pay the Zakat .

5. And those who guard their chastity (i.e. private parts, from illegal sexual acts)

6. Except from their wives or (the captives and slaves) that their right hands possess, for then, they are free from blame;

7. But whoever seeks beyond that, then those are the transgressors;

8. Those who are faithfully true to their Amanat (all the duties which Allah has ordained, honesty, moral responsibility and trusts etc.) and to their covenants;

9. And those who strictly guard their (five compulsory congregational) Salawat (prayers) (at their fixed stated hours).

10. These are indeed the inheritors.

11. Who shall inherit the Firdaus (Paradise). They shall dwell therein forever

In this verse of Surah Mu’minoon, Allah mentions various things about the success for the believers. And in this regard it seems like the very checklist we’ve all been looking for. In this verse we read those qualities that Allah describes as success for the believers. And when we further investigate we see something we can relate to. Just like in University, their Professors give students a syllabus and in this syllabus are rules on how to pass the class.

The syllabus tells the student what to do, step by step, in order to pass the class with the best marks. Similarly we see that Allah is telling us the criteria, step by step on how to become successful.

After mentioning over 9 verses of the criteria for a successful believer, He mentions that indeed they are the inheritors. Inheritors of what you might ask? Inheritors of al-Firdaus (The Greatest property of Paradise).  Here Allah mentions the step-by-step criteria in order for us to become successful inheritors of the private property of the land of Allah.

Allah mentions, that only specific people will get to roam, and graze on my special private property and only those people who inherit it shall attain it. So how does one go about attaining the private property of Allah? By following his syllabus, and through the implementation of his rules and guidelines will we then become worthy of the miraath (inheritance) of Allah!

I want to know what you know. Let’s talk about this.
